Cusco to Lake Titicaca
One day trip from Cusco to Puno or from Puno to Cusco by a comfortable tourist bus with stops at the highlights on that route (a guide is on board): Baroque church of Andahuaylillas, archaeological Inca complex of Raqchi, snowy mountain peaks in Raya and the Lithic Museum of Pucará.
The Sun route will be performed in a comfortable tourist bus and takes about 10 hours. During the journey the bus will stop at different places. There, the guests can follow the guided tours, which are included in the trip. These stops convert the 390km trip in an enjoyable, entertaining and informative journey. Between these stops, you can appreciate a great diversity of landscapes (valleys, ridges and plateaus).
The first stop is made to visit the Baroque church of Andahaylillas, which is expressed in the rich, detailed, and illustrative frescoes, paintings and carvings, made by indigenous artists of that epoch. This church is also called the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”
Then you will reach the large and beautiful archaeological Inca complex of Racchi with its colossal temple of the Creator God Wiracocha.
At noon you reach the city of Sicuani to enjoy a delicious lunch buffet.
Later you will reach the Pass of La Raya (4335 m.a.s.), where as well is located the dividing of the waters that flow into the Amazon and into the Pacific. Here, on this stop, you can enjoy an impressive high Andean landscape.
Next stop is Pucara and its interesting Ceremonial Center and Lithic Museum of a pre-Inca culture that existed 100 years B.C. until 300 years D.C.
Finally the bus reaches the city of Puno, which is located on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
